The Dailey’s Story

Eight months pregnant with her second child, Tracy Dailey had an uneasy feeling. She contacted her doctor who advised her to go to the hospital. There, during a sonogram, she received the horrible news… “There is no heartbeat.”

Emma Kathryn Dailey was born into heaven May 30, 2007. While she and her husband, Bryan, are now blessed with three beautiful healthy boys, Emma is missed every day.

In memory of her daughter, Tracy co-founded Emma’s Footprints in 2014 with her dear friend Kristen Banocy. Over the past ten years, the PA based 501c3 organization has supported more than 2500 grieving families by providing emotional support, compassionate guidance, financial assistance for burial, cremation, counseling, and memorialization, and personalized maternal and family care.

The Dailey’s story is all too common in our community and around the world—one in four pregnancies ends in loss. For some families like the Daileys, the loss of a child is medically unexplained and heart-piercing. For other families, the medical reasons for the loss of a child are understood, but no less traumatic. Over the past 10 years, Emma’s has built a loss community of dedicated volunteer parents, family members, and friends who have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss—each one of whom has healed from the trauma of loss better and faster thanks to the support of a friend, caregiver, or mentor who has “been there.”
